What I’ve learned from true greatness

There is an inflection point where integrity and humility converge — and at that point, greatness and honour are born.

Few people embody this more clearly than Dr. Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, President of the African Development Bank.

I’ve had the rare privilege of observing and learning from him up close.
And I never stop learning.

Is it his ability to carry greatness with grace?
His unwavering care for people, no matter how great or small?
His willingness to serve, even when he’s the most important person in the room?
Or maybe it’s the public affection and deep love he shows his wife — a quiet strength that speaks volumes.

Whatever it is, Dr. Adesina reminds me that leadership isn’t about control. It’s about character.

That’s the heartbeat behind Inspired to Inspire, returning on May 5th.

This isn’t just an event. It’s a space for realignment. For calling back the parts of us that have gone quiet — not because they’re gone, but because life got loud.

If you’ve been leading, giving, building, mentoring — but feel a tug for deeper grounding…
This is for you.

If you’ve been the strong one, but secretly crave spaces that pour back into you...
I built this with you in mind.

More details are coming soon. But I wanted to reach out personally —
Because I believe the people who are meant to be there will feel this email in their spirit.

May 5th. Something beautiful is coming.
And if you’ve read this far, I hope you’ll come along.

With purpose,
Wale Akinyemi
